It's been smarter than most people realize.
I Just want us to all be aware of this really cool Google Assistant feature because it's kind of sick. So for years now, if you've ever heard a song in the background or on the radio or on a mall or something, you just Shazam it. It uses the mic. you can figure out what song it is.
Now if you've been watching Tech videos, you've probably already knew that Google Pixels have had this feature called Now Playing where they're ambiently listening in the background and keeping a rolling list of all the songs at play. But did you know that you can actually sing a song yourself and Google can still try to identify that song? Or even if you don't know the words, you can kind of like sing or hum or whistle the lyrics. Check this out. what song is this? Mm-hmm it gives me blue Da Ba Dee 11 match.
Now it's funny. It works the exact same way on the iPhone but it actually looks kind of cooler in the Google app for some reason. So you hit the mic. What song is this? Eleanor Rigby 47 match.
That would be correct I Had no idea Google would do this but now I'm glad I know.
Me since 3 years ago
Really? No one know this? I use this long long time ago😂😂😂
Look I like MKBHD and allbit seeing this made me shake my head. This feature is not new it's been on android for a couple years now. If anything this show the bias tech reviewer have towards Apple. If it was no name reviewer I'd forgive but for MKHBD this is unexcusable.
People are just now realizing this exists.. I've been using this for over a year now💀💀💀💀💀
When I play guitar it also recognises the songs I'm playing even when I don't sing… Blew my mind… Although I'm a bit bummed that some songs I'm clearly not playing close enough to the original as it doesn't recognise it without me asking
Its such a shame that google does the implementation in such a bad way… no history of the searched items or some sort of list
I don't understand why this feature looks so much better on iOS than on googles own default app on their own operating system 💀
I still just use the same Google "Sound Search" widget that I've been using for years. So simple and easy.
I already use it since a year😂
The only difference between the Google assistant and Shazam, is that Shazam actually works. The Google assistant……doesn't…..or only does when it wants to.
Comparing Shazam to Google Assistant when it comes to identifying songs…….is like comparing the work of a college Professor to that of kids in elementary school.
I trust Shazam to identify songs WWAAYYY more than I do Google assistant.
My cat and my dog both come when I call for them……but as you can probably imagine, the dog does it a lot more consistently than the cat does lol.
And Shazam is the dog in that scenario. I'd rather have something that will work anytime I use it whenever I use it than something that will just work occasionally when it wants to 🤣
I'm surprised MKBHD didn't know Google rolled out that feature. I remember using it for the first time a whole back- I was stunned. Google has amazing specialties
I knew all of it.
SoundHound has this feature for at least 10 years
Zamn, Marques got some singing skills
My Pixel 7 Pro is a retarded a** phone. Whenever I say: "What song is this?" Even if I start singing or humming immediately after asking or wait for it to listen, it only listens for about half a second and then says: "Sorry, I don't recognize this song." Even tho it's doesn't even spend more than half a second trying to listen 🤣😂. This feature does not work….at least it doesn't on my Pixel 7 Pro.
And I've tried it with Super easy well known mainstream songs too, and it still only listens for a few milliseconds and then says: "Sorry, I don't recognize this song."
I have been using this from pas 1 year
