Alienware and macbooks are both complete wastes of money. I could build a computer with twice the power of those rigs at half the price.

Seeing that the Macs are simply Intel Developer Roadmap compliant PCs, the MacBook IS ridiculously overpriced.
That advantage is that you get OSX, a powerfiul GUIfied full blown FreBSD environment (launch a terminal session & its full blown command line FreeBSD) w/ the OSX server version being only a $49 upgrade.
Seeing as VMWare Fusion is only $49, the MacBook gives you more options re environments.
Now, if Apple would ONLY price them competitively!!!!
