I guess I am the only one here from 2020!
Besides the fact Android is Andy Rubin's company project bought by Google. You missed a lot of important Android facts:
1) Android IS LINUX. Yes that is right it's just linux with some specific drivers and a Java Machine
2) Oracles sued Google for infringements over using the Java Machine Dalvik
3) There were MANY other smart phones BEFORE android-linux that also used linux. One of my work mates bought a motorola linux smart phone in 2005 long long before android-linux came out
4) Apple also toyed with linux(long before iphone) and had a partnership with motorola to make smart phones. Apple dumped the partnership and decided to use their BSD mach kernel instead.. aka iOS.
… I think I should do my own channel, I have more information 😉
