I bought one of these, and I was so disappointed with the performance, I assumed there was something wrong with it. The Apple store gave me another to try. I was also very unhappy with it. I was video editing with Premiere Pro a multicam project with three cameras, Pro Res LT 1080p and a couple of audio sources. After about an hour into the project, the program monitor no longer was in sync with the multicam windows making it impossible to edit. When I tried to colour correct the footage it was very slow to show me a preview. The problem, I believe, was the video cards because I returned the second Mac Pro and bought a MacBook Pro with an Nivida card. The MacBook Pro was able to do the same video editing project without a problem. There were a few of things I didn’t like about the Mac Pro that didn’t pertain to performance. The power button is at the back, which is very inconvenient, you have to reach around and feel around the cables and try to find it. There is only one audio port which is at the back so you have to unplug your monitors then try to find the hole to insert your headphones. I did like how quiet it was. I have an old Mac Pro it has served me well for many years but it is a bit slow. I use it now to burn projects to DVD or Blu-ray. Apple’s bread and butter used to be the graphic pros, now the iPhone is king and they have lost interest in us. Gerry in Calgary.
