For decades people have dreamed of a technology that would allow them to instantly be somewhere else. I’m taking a deep dive into teleportation tech and the next best thing – virtual reality with Jake Baldino and Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
click baity title? I mean I don't know what I was expecting.
I feel like Teleportation won't happen but perhaps we can create some sort of system that allows us to travel faster like some sort of futurama capsule system im not sure but the idea of travelling from one place to another extremely fast sounds cool
Marcus, this is so far out my league…but was so intrigued with the first scene with Mario Brothers. I am a 60yr old female and I have never been a gamer…..my son is. I just got a glimpse of what he experienses when he plays these games with many people all over the world. Great video.
the Prestige.
It’s 4 am and I’m high asf rn this video is trippin me out bro
Never seen this many nerds gathered.
Bro what confuses me is that if we were “teleport” from A to B, we’re not even just atoms.. Our only way to be actually alive is with our soul being in our body. How would we know if our souls will also go from A to B? Soul is not made from atoms so… This really confuses me, like wouldn’t that just kill you?
I feel like a more viable option for this would be a machine that could "copy/paste" exact atom structures from one machine *to another machine*. Being able to teleport wherever you want would be near impossible because our attempts would rely on reconstruction on the other end. Also, Niel's memory problem should in theory be resolved if we can transfer with 100% accuracy because memories would be formed by synaptic connections, no? so long as the neutrons are reconstructed in the same way, and electrical charges are monitored and left in-tact on the other side, you should be golden. I think the bigger issue is actually reconstruction – where do you get the particles from? the alien fart from rick & morty? You'd need to be able to conduct nuclear fusion on a massive scale which we cannot do. I also am of the understanding that these issues come up when it comes to time travel – say we invented a Time Machine, if it can't also teleport you, the second you travel in time, you'll be left in the middle of space because of space travel. Similarly, we haven't defined a metric for exact coordinates in space (because we haven't needed to.)
I love how the video was 2012 long😂😂😂😂
I have an oclulus at my house it works pretty good
This "technology" exists and anyone can learn it (I learned it by following a recipe in a book on this topic; it works). But it doesn't involve the physical body. It involves your consciousness or what some people call your 'astral' body. A fanciful name but it is real enough and has identifiable properties which are stable. And you really can go to many places in the multi-verse. It is as real as ham-and-eggs, I've experienced it myself and it is in no way dreaming or lucid dreaming. Indeed, you are fully awake. Give it a try. If you haven't studied it, your opinion is worthless.
By the way, it took me 20 years to succeed. It took the inventors of Xerox-style dry copying a similar amount of time to reach their result (which no one thought was possible, either). Just sayin'.
