There's a 4th, You can set everything up in Home Assistant when you find any of the other 3 lacking, and selectively reexpose certain devices out to those 3 platforms for voice control with one of the big 3.

Broadlink's RM lineup is a very useful smart device. It's basically a universal IR and Radio remote that you can configure to function anything from your tv or record player to your garage door, your blinds or your awnings. Some of them also double as a temperature and humidity sensors, so can be useful to set routines

Maybe this is just a regional thing but I only find Alexa smart home devices to work well in India. Google Assistant doesnโ€™t work all that well. And isnโ€™t Matter rolling out soon by the way?

I suggest to everyone with smart home capabilities to install an air quality sensor to keep track of temperature, humidity and co2 level in the house in order to regularly open the windows and get fresh air in, not only for your brain but also for the sake of indoor plants

I think switches should become smart. Like manual control by touch. Smart switches can replace smart-socket/bulb/fan etc. Saves a lot of installation cost and repair service cost.

Hearing Marques tell me not to touch my phone first thing in the morning

    The irony ๐Ÿ˜…

I've got a Linksys Altas Pro 6E, only reason I didn't go for the Netgear Orbi systems is that it gives you one router and some child nodes, whereas the Linksys system essentially gives you three separate routers that you can designate as you wish.
