Why don’t they make that bottom round part flat so the thing is flat against the wrist
The Watch Ultra is the replacement for iPhone mini. I can imagine it fits the same case.
this watch is for women who go hiking for a couple of hours then call themselves "adventurers". a real adventure/expedition lasts weeks in nature and tough conditions, which means its inconvenient to keep charging your watch every 2 days. So the real target audience for this watch is soy boys and women, not men who go on real expeditions. I'd rather stick to my Casio tbh. it lasted me 20 days while Climbing Island Peak, and i wasn't worried about the scratches on it.
I’m here for it. Preordered the ultra. I live in the mountains and run and hike all the time! Haven’t bought a new iPhone in years but the ultra got me.
Hiked in the alps all my life in every condition imaginable and I STILL have to figure out what’s the use of a compass when you have maps

You can use the water lock features to disable the touchscreen. This is what I do for workouts and use the two side buttons to pause the workout, unlock the water lock and then end the workout.
I think it is bull crap that they leave the same price on the airpods in the US and that they rased the price in europe to 300 euro from 279. that is just bs.
Once you can video chat with the watch that is when the big break though will happen

Remember when Apple released an expensive limited edition gold model when they released the first gen? Now obsolete. That’s the real problem with these digital watches… they’re not a real timepiece. They can’t even last a decade. Apple should instead sell watches that can be internally upgraded to last through the ages.

two major drawbacks of ANY apple watch: the sweat (already mentioned) and the apps. the second drawback: the watch seems to be fine (no I would not do a 100 miler relying on it), but again, purchasing a ton of apps just to have the features Garmin offers out of the box, for free… not so sure about it.
Considering what a good dive computer costs the price is justifiable if it can keep up. Will have to see what it's capable of. The reason I have a garmin instinct it because I am clumsy and would scratch or crack an apple watch way too easily and that would upset me. The instinct can take a ton of abuse. Maybe this watch addresses that, but I don't know.
Marques easily has enough money to have a dedicated Sport Watch. But aside from that: I'm happy they did something for those people who want a apple watch but cant deal with the 1,5 day battery life. I saw many people choosing a garmin watch just because the old apple watch cant handle the longer workouts like tracking a 100km in 24hrs challenge. Those will finally have a option from apple directly. Good thing there is still nothing in the series 8 that gets me to upgrade my current apple watch. Especially because there is no dark gray aluminium model since the series 6 that i have. I want a neutral color that is not silver. Nice coverage btw.
